Name: Mani Kollengode 

  • Mani Kollengode is a Kenyan musician of Asian origin known for his hit single "Kenya Kenya" released digitally on April 7, 2017. It was composed by Mani Productions Ltd and shared by many, both locally and internationally . He was invited to perform the song Kenya Kenya for the Kenyan national "Madaraka day" celebrations held on the 1st of June 2017 at the Karibuini Show Grounds, in Nyeri (Kenya) . Mani also had the privilege to perform in front of H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta on this great occasion. He is also known to be the first to cover the melodious Kenyan National Anthem and the famous "Jambo Bwana" song that took the social media by storm and went viral. Mani is a versatile and a multi lingual singer also known for creating mash up cover songs that is shared globally with overwhelming responses.  

  • Mani is a certified Sound/Audio/Acoustic Engineer and a Sound Designer who graduated from SAE (school of audio engineering) accredited by the government of Australia and has worked on various international and local projects.  

 

 

Early Life 

 

  • Born 3rd December 1990. From Nakuru (Kenya), Mani was titled East Africa’s first youngest music producer, composer, songwriter and a performing artiste (Singer/rapper) in 2007. Best known for his hit singles "Catch me if u can", "Let it go", "With you" and "Mani Money" that were released across all major media stations across the nation. 

  • Mani displayed talent at an early age of 13, where he started off writting, recording and producing music by himself and decided to convert his passion into a full time career. Mani studied at Oshwal Academy Nairobi. After completing part of his degree in South Africa, Mani moved to Dubai graduating with the highest GPA in university and got invited to work with big industry names. Mani worked for the 1st Dolby Atmos setup in the middle east where he worked on numerous projects, one of which included the famous animation series “Freej season 5”, he did the entire sound design for this Arabic animation that airs during the holy month of Ramadan with high TRP ratings telecasted on national television all over UAE. 

  • At 17, "Catch me if u can" Mani's 1st commercial single made it to the top 10 hits on local charts in Kenya. The video hit all video charts in East Africa taking his spot in the local music scene. His second single, "Lost Peace," composed during  the post election violence in 2007, dedicated to the “Internally Displaced Families (I.D.P’s)” in Kenya, passed on a huge message through almost every media station and had a great impact on the whole scenario touching every listener and viewer (through video and radio and all local news papers) making it a seasonal hit creating awareness on peace in Kenya. 

  • Mani successfully compiled all his hard work and dedication onto a 9 track audio piece naming it "Mani Money" the album. The name was derived from one of the hit singles in the album called “Mani-Money”. It has 9 of his best singles that fall under Hip-Hop, R&B, Crunk and a pinch of world music genre. This album was released on iTunes worldwide and was sold online/physically in outlets in Kenya. He also gained recognition through various invitations to perform at concerts like the Wapi festival held at the British council, The Kenya music week held at The Sarit Centre. He also performed internationally at The country club international (India). This pulled in local media attention and Mani was invited on various interviews on local television. Mani received the Presidents Award from H.E Hon Mwai Kibaki during this period. 

  • He decided to diversify his passion for sound that led him to expand and re-establish his dream company along with his elder brother and set base in East Africa, “Mani Productions Ltd.” The company is a fully loaded firm that does anything and everything to do with Audio/Video production, Media and Advertising and large scale high profile music concerts.
